DWC Proposes ICD-10 Revisions to Forms

The California Division of Workers' Compensation posted to its forum for comment proposed rules to upgrade physician forms to refer to the new International Classification of Diseases-10 template by the Oct. 1 federal deadline.The new system, which Athena Health says will increase the number of reporting codes from about 13,000 to 69,000, is aimed at improving medical-billing efficiency and making it easier to detect provider billing fraud.
