A California lawmaker is requesting an audit of the qualified medical evaluator program to explore reimbursement rates, the certification process as well as communications regarding what was alleged to be underground rulemaking pertaining to medical-legal billing rules.
The Joint Legislative Audit Committee will consider the request during a hearing Wednesday. The committee will also review a request to have the state auditor evaluate how state agencies manage their workers’ compensation programs.
