The New York State Workers' Compensation Board temporarily suspended treatment authorizations for three doctors indicted by a state grand jury in Brooklyn on charges they participated in an elaborate scheme to bilk Medicaid, Medicaid-managed care organizations and Medicare out of more than $6.9 million for medically unnecessary tests and procedures by promising their patients free footwear.
Dr. Henry Sadar, Dr. Joseph Grossman and Dr. David Glass were among nine doctors and 14 other defendants named in an indictment handed down by a Kings County grand jury on March 31.
