Medical payments accounted for a larger percentage of benefits paid in Arizona as compared to the national average during each of the past 10 years, the National Council on Compensation Insurance reports.NCCI’s “Medical Data Report for the State of Arizona” shows the distribution of medical payments by service category is similar to that of other states, but overall average medical costs per claim in Arizona have been at least 25% higher than the national average in the past decade.
