AG Announces $1.4M Settlement With Construction Company

New York Attorney General Letitia James on Tuesday announced a $1.4 million settlement with a construction firm that was accused of repeatedly violating the state's workers' compensation laws. For nearly a decade, Alba Services Inc. silenced injured workers, manipulated insurance costs and disregarded a culture of harassment at its worksites, James said in a statement.  The AG's office said Alba, from 2016 to 2024, reported less than half of the workplace injuries it was legally required to disclose.
