The Mississippi Supreme Court last week threw out a wrongful death claim by the family of a hotel housekeeper who says her employer literally worked her to death.
Mautrice Vaughn allegedly had been complaining of chest pain when she arrived to start her shift at the Gold Strike Casino Resort. Her supervisor wouldn't let her leave the hotel, which was booked to capacity for the Memorial Day weekend.
Vaughn's family said she was told she'd be fired if she insisted on going home, but she called her sisters and asked them to come pick her up anyway.
