Bill to Add Appeals Court Advances After Amendments

A bill that would add an appeals court level and reconfigure the workers' compensation adjudication system passed a key House committee last week after a few amendments were made. Senate Bill 275 would add an intermediate appeals court to the West Virginia court system, which advocates say is needed to take the load off the state Supreme Court.
