Georgia lawmakers passed a bill that would postpone by two years the shuttering of the state’s Subsequent Injury Trust Fund.
The Senate on Tuesday sent SB 91, by Sen. Clint Dixon, R-Gwinnett, to the desk of Gov. Brian Kemp.
The bill would push to Dec. 31, 2025, the statutory deadline for dissolving the Subsequent Injury Trust Fund.
Lawmakers in 2005 passed legislation calling for the fund to wind down operations by the end of 2020. The fund stopped accepting new injury claims in 2006.
