AUSTIN, Texas — The 85th Texas Legislature began an emphasis on charter schools, guns, immigration and sanctuary cities, but little thought about workers' compensation. Yet 53 comp-related bills have been filed, said Albert Betts, executive director of the Insurance Council of Texas.
