Roughly a quarter of 345 property-casualty insurers placed into conservation, rehabilitation or liquidation between 2000 and 2016 have come from the workers’ compensation sector, according to the insurance rating company A.M. Best.
The news comes from A.M. Best’s annual update to its tally of “impairments”— court-ordered conservations, rehabilitations and liquidations — within the property-casualty insurance industry.
