2nd and 6th DCA's Take Action on Several Comp Cases

The California 2nd District Court of Appeal accepted an amicus brief in a pending dispute over the burden of proof for a psychiatrist's medical treatment lien, when his patient has reached a settlement that didn't admit liability for a psyche injury. The California Society of Industrial Medicine & Surgery is backing Dr. Azadeh Rahimi on his claim for payment for his services. The court had granted review to Rahimi v. WCAB on Dec. 31, and it has set oral argument for April 16. The 2nd DCA has also granted review to a case called CIGA v.
