Neurosurgeon Charged in Alleged $500,000 Fraud Scheme

A Sacramento-area neurosurgeon has been charged with workers’ compensation fraud, medical insurance fraud and grand theft after allegedly submitting more than $500,000 in fraudulent claims to California's State Compensation Insurance Fund. Dr. Laura Jean Anderson, 64, of Carmichael, was arrested Monday and booked into the Sacramento County Jail.
