A foundation formed this year by Louisiana's largest workers' comp insurer is giving $500,000 to 24 hospitals for protective gear, child care and groceries for frontline workers during the pandemic.
“Right now, a sector of this workforce is being challenged in unprecedented ways while trying to make Louisiana citizens safe and healthy, and we're honored to help them continue to fight this important battle,” John Hawie, chairman of the Louisiana Workers' Compensation Corporation Foundation, said in a news release.
