House Passes 'Doc-Fix' Bill that Delays ICD-10 another Year

The U.S. House of Representatives on Thursday passed legislation that will delay for another year a nationwide conversion to the ICD-10 billing codes. The language to delay implementation to the 10th edition of the International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems was included in House Resolution 4302, titled the Protecting Access to Medicare Act of 2014. The primary purpose of the bill was to delay a 23.7% cut in Medicare physician reimbursement rates slated for April 1.
