A bill submitted to the Texas Legislature for the 2015 session attempting to mandate workers’ compensation for building and construction contractors in the state represents a do-over, in the most literal sense.
Senate Bill 155, which Sen. Jose Rodriguez, D-El Paso, pre-filed last Monday, would require contractors and subcontractors on private building and construction projects to provide workers’ compensation insurance for each of their employees.
