A Madison County grand jury indicted a former Maryville police officer on felony charges of theft and violating Illinois workers' compensation law for allegedly filing a fraudulent workers' compensation claim and collecting $188,000 in benefits to which he was not entitled, according to media reports.The jury indicted Richard Turner, 43, of Glen Carbon, on Dec. 20 on two counts of theft and two counts of filing a fraudulent claim and lying to his physician about the nature of his injuries, according to an Associate Press report.The Madison County State's Attorney's Office and M...
