Gov. Appoints Dianne Blumer Labor Commissioner

Alaska Gov. Sean Parnell on Thursday appointed Dianne Blumer to serve as the commissioner of the Department of Labor and Workforce Development.Blumer will replace Click Bishop, who retired in March. David Stone has served as acting commissioner since Bishop retired.Most recently, Blumer served as a special assistant to Parnell advising on regulation and policy for the Department of Commerce, Community and Economic Development, the Department of Administration and Department of Revenue.
