The Independent Insurance Agents of Texas is asking the state Department of Insurance to extend the expiration date of a rule that allows allows insurers to use negotiated experience modifiers for an additional year.
Rule 4-C-4 of the National Council on Compensation Insurance’s rating plan manual allows carriers to negotiate experience ratings with employers rather than using the manual’s strict formula. The rule will expire on July 1. IIAT is asking for an extension until July 1, 2019.
