A group of 10 former players have filed a class-action complaint against the National Hockey League and its board of directors in federal court, alleging the league failed to protect them from repetitive head trauma and kept silent about the danger even though numerous scientific studies have demonstrated that repeated blows can lead to degenerative brain disease. The suit, filed at the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, is similar to a complaint by 4,500 former National Football League players against their league.
