A government-funded health care research organization will fund a University of Washington study comparing efforts by the Washington and Ohio workers’ compensation systems to reduce unsafe opioid prescribing to injured workers.
The Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute said in a press release that its board of governors approved an appropriation of $5 million for the natural experiment study, which is part its research on comparative clinical effectiveness on substance-abuse disorders and pain management.
