Zenith Announces It Will Lay Off 100 Workers

Zenith National Insurance Corp. announced that it will lay off 100 employees in an attempt to streamline its administrative cost structure.The Woodland Hills-based carrier is terminating 6% of its workforce as a response to the current economic downturn. The employees affected by the reduction will receive a one-time support package that will include severance payments for eligible employees, professional outplacement assistance and a special COBRA benefit.The COBRA benefit allows for Zenith to pay the full COBRA premiums of terminated workers for up to 18 months.
