The California Assembly passed a bill to make workers’ compensation benefits available to firefighters injured while proceeding to or engaging in fire suppression or rescue operations, along with those hurt protecting life or property, without regard for whether the firefighters were on duty or operating inside the state.
The Assembly voted 75-0 on Monday to pass AB 932, by Assemblyman Evan Low, D-San Jose.
