The New Jersey Assembly Labor Committee has approved a bill that would require larger employers to give preference to injured workers who have reached maximum medical improvement.
Assembly Bill 2617, co-sponsored by Rep. Carol Murphy, D-Cinnaminson, would mandate that companies with at least 50 employees hire injured workers who cannot return to their previous positions if another suitable position is available.
