The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration has hit an organic-food maker in Wisconsin after one of its workers lost three fingertips in a rotating airlock blade.
OSHA investigated Nature’s Path Foods Inc. last November after the injury, which occurred when the worker was cleaning the slicing machine. But OSHA says it found more violations than what led to the incident, and it cited the company for 14 serious and two repeat violations for similar citations issued after an inspection in 2012.
