The California Division of Workers’ Compensation suspended two physicians, a chiropractor and six businesspeople who have been convicted of fraud or financial crimes.
The division on Nov. 27 suspended John Pangelinan and Jonathan Pena, who both pleaded guilty to conspiracy charges for their roles in a scheme that allegedly bilked Medicare, Medicaid, private carriers and union health benefit plans out of more than $150 million.
