Washington state’s Department of Labor & Industries is forming a new safety team to ensure farmworkers are protected while on the job, the department announced in a news release.
L&I’s Division of Occupational Safety and Health is creating the Agriculture Compliance Unit, which is expected to consist of 16 new staffers, including 13 who will focus on “improving safety and health by performing agriculture work site inspections and looking into safety complaints,” according to the news release.
