Assembly Passes Bill That Would Create Obligation to Rehire Workers at MMI

Some New Jersey businesses would be required to provide a hiring preference to injured workers who have reached maximum medical improvement and can’t perform their old jobs but could perform essential duties of other vacant positions, under a bill unanimously approved by the Assembly. The Assembly on Thursday voted 76-0 to pass A2617, by Rep. Carol Murphy, D-Cinnaminson.
