Lawmakers Approve Nail Salon Crackdown

The New York Legislature has approved a bill allowing the Secretary of State to shut down nail salons operating without a license or liability insurance. The New York Senate approved Senate 5966 by voice vote last Thursday, and the New York Assembly approved the legislation by voice vote on Friday in response to a report published in The New York Times May 7.
