Amici Join High Court Case over Worker's Right to Medical Privacy

The first of what presumably will be several amicus briefs has been lodged with the Georgia Supreme Court in a case which addresses the interplay between patient privacy rights and workers' compensation disclosure requirements.Wednesday's joint filing on behalf of the Georgia Self-Insurer's Association, Georgia Manufacturer's Association and Georgia Poultry Federation urges the high court to reinstate a State Board of Workers' Compensation's decision which held that an injured worker could be forced to authorize her doctor to communicate with her employer.The groups are...
