The California Supreme Court will review an appellate court decision finding workers’ compensation is the exclusive remedy for a husband and wife attacked by a man with a knife while doing a welfare check at the request of a deputy sheriff.
The high court on Aug. 22 in its own motion granted review of the 3rd District Court of Appeal decision finding that exclusive remedy precluded James and Norma Gund from suing Trinity County and Dep. Ron Whitman for negligence and misrepresentation.
