The Washington State Department of Labor and Industries adopted rules that take effect next year providing presumptive coverage for post-traumatic stress disorder as an occupational disease for direct care registered nurses.
The rules take effect Jan. 19 and add nurses to the list of certain firefighters and law enforcement officers for whom it is presumed PTSD arose out of and in the course of employment.
The rules implement SB 5454, which state lawmakers this year enacted.
