The Washington Department of Labor & Industries is proposing a rate increase of 0.7% on Jan. 1.
L&I said the proposed increase would cost employers an average of about $10 more a year per employee. Workers, "on average," will not see an increase in what they pay, the department said. Washington's monopoly system is unusual in that both employers and employees pay a portion of premiums.
