Gainesville Eyes Switch to Comp Self-Insurance

The City of Gainesville, Ga., is considering a switch to a workers' compensation self-insurance program to avoid paying $845,452 in premiums to the Georgia Municipal Association, according to a local news service.AccessNorthGa.com reported that the Gainesville City Council reviewed a feasibility study last Thursday that predicted the city could see significant savings by becoming self-insured.The council's Insurance Committee worked with Arthur J.
