Governor, Insurance Commissioner at Odds Over Plans to Modernize MSF

Gov. Steve Bullock is opposed to a bill that would strip his authority to appoint all seven directors for the Montana State Fund, but the state’s insurance commissioner says the proposal would further brighten the line separating the carrier from other state agencies — and hopefully protect against future legislative raids on its surplus.
