Just as some stakeholders had predicted, Florida saw a sharp increase in COVID-19 workers' compensation claims for June as the number of virus infections ballooned across the state.
A new monthly report from the Division of Workers' Compensation shows that in June the number of coronavirus-related claims reached their highest level so far. Some 3,492 claims were filed in June — a 57% jump from the March figure of 2,227. For July, the claims reached almost 2,700, the report shows.
