Longtime WC Judge Dies

One of the longest-serving workers' compensation judges in Louisiana died this week.

Robert Varnado, an administrative law judge since 1990, served in the Franklinton, Covington and New Orleans districts, according to a bulletin from the Louisiana Workforce Commission. For the past several years, he had worked in Covington, District 6.

"Judge Varnado will be missed by everyone in the workers’ compensation community," the commission noted.

More information about funeral arrangements was not available Tuesday.
