Comp Offices Reopen Tuesday to Some Staffers After COVID-19 Disinfection

Tuesday, April 21, 2020 | 0

The Virginia Workers' Compensation Commission, closed for two weeks after a staff member showed symptoms of COVID-19, will reopen Tuesday.

The commission said in an emailed bulletin that the headquarters at 333 E. Franklin St. in Richmond had been disinfected in consultation with state health officials. Public access will still be limited, however, and most staffers are working from home.

A drop box at the front of the headquarters has been set up for subpoenas and hand-delivered filings.

Parties are encouraged to file documents by fax or through WebFile as much as possible. The fax number is 804-823-6957. Filing deadlines for items that were due during the closure period have been extended until Tuesday.
