Bill Creating Death Benefit for Cancer-Striken Firefighters Becomes Law

The families of Kentucky firefighters will be be eligible for an $80,000 death benefit if the firefighter dies of cancer before age 65, under legislation that became law earlier this month. Senate Bill 195 by Sen. Albert Robinson, R-London, became law without Gov. Matt Bevin's signature on April 4, according to the state legislature's website.
