Fatal Fall Leads to $42,600 in Proposed Fines against Roofing Co.

The death of a 33-year-old worker at a Piasa, Illinois, construction site prompted the Occupational Safety and Health Administration to propose $42,600 in fines against a construction company. The employee of Mid-State Construction & Roofing was installing roofing materials at Southwest High School in Piasa on Aug. 4, when he fell 27 feet to the ground and suffered blunt force trauma, OSHA said.
