Employers Avoid WC Premiums for more than 500,000

Pennsylvania employers may be avoiding workers’ compensation premiums on more than 500,000 workers in their state by misclassifying them as independent contractors. A wage theft study by the Temple University Beasley School of Law’s Center for Social Justice released in June estimates 9% of the state’s workers are classified as independent contractors when they should be wage earners.
