WCB Commissioner Libous Files for Retirement as Husband, Son Face Felony Charges

Four months after her husband and son were indicted on felony charges and two months after investigators seized a laptop, cell phone and documents from her apartment, New York State Workers’ Compensation Board Vice Chairwoman Frances Libous has applied for retirement. Libous has not been directly linked with any criminal investigation, but her husband, state Sen. Thomas Libous, and her son Matthew are facing charges of obstruction of the Internal Revenue Service and lying to Federal Bureau of Investigation Agents concerning the son’s employment at a law firm in Westchester County....
