Manufacturing Plant Cited for Worker's Amputated Finger

A woman operating a power press for the first time at a Homerville manufacturing facility had two of her fingers amputated by the machinery, leading to OSHA citations against the manufacturer and its staffing agency. OSHA on Monday cited Bway Corp., a metal and plastic container manufacturer with headquarters in Atlanta, for four repeated, 15 serious and three other-than-serious safety violations. OSHA also cited SMX LLC, the staffing agency that employed the injured worker, for three serious and two other-than-serious safety violations.
