Judge Says E-Filing Saved more than $1 Million

Florida Deputy Chief Judge of Compensation Claims David Langham said in a blog that the electronic filing and service of documents in workers' compensation cases is saving parties nearly $1.1 million a year and is saving the state Office of Judges of Compensation Claims another $157,093.Langham said that, based on the current cost of a first-class postage stamp of 46 cents and an additional cost of $3.10 for certified mail, the electronic filing of 58,041 petitions in 2012 saved $206,626.Last year, parties e-filed 42,116 Responses to Petitions and saved another $299,866.In all, parties e-f...
