Fiscal Committee Passes Presumption, MPN Bills

The California Assembly Appropriations Committee, on its first day back from the summer recess, passed two bills that would expand presumptions for public safety workers, along with a measure proposing several changes relating to medical provider networks. The committee on Monday voted 13-0 to approve Senate Bill 542. The bill, by Sen. Henry Stern, D-Canoga Park, would create a presumption that post-traumatic stress disorder is compensable for police and firefighters.
