New Dispute Rules Give Doctors More Time to Submit Bills

The New York State Workers' Compensation Board has adopted regulations in keeping with 2019 legislative changes regarding medical billing disputes. The rule changes, published Wednesday in the New York State Register, page 28, amend sections of Title 12 of the New York Codes, Rules and Regulations. Among other changes, the amendments: Add new provider types as authorized by law last year, including acupuncturists, nurse practitioners and physician assistants.
