The Workers’ Compensation Insurance Rating Bureau will discuss findings from its study of cumulative trauma claims in California during a Jan. 4 webinar.
The WCIRB recently published its report on the medical characteristics of cumulative trauma claims, which account for about 8% of all claims and 13% of indemnity claims in California.
Among other things, the report says court decisions in 2011 expanded the interpretation of limitations on post-termination claims in a way that allowed more workers to claim cumulative trauma injuries after their employment ended.
