Calif. Reform Supporters Say Attorneys Weren't Targets

California's workers' compensation reform may be pushing applicants' attorneys out of the system, but advocates for employers say it's nothing personal. State lawmakers passed Senate Bill 899 in 2004 largely to fix a system considered too unpredictable and litigation-heavy, reform supporters told WorkCompCentral. They said the purpose was never to drive applicants' attorneys out. "I think it's a consequence.
