Dwight Johnson, who spoke frankly and humanely about recovering from work-related amputations at several California workers' compensation conferences, has died at the age of 61.
After losing both his legs in industrial accidents, Johnson founded the shoe-design company Soule Innovations. His hand-painted, brightly colored shoes became a favorite of WorkCompCentral's late founder, David DePaolo, who sported them frequently after Johnson spoke at the 2014 CompLaude Awards and Gala.
A Del Mar, California, native, Johnson designed and installed glass for high-rise towers for 42 years...
