McCarty Picks Veteran P&C Regulator to Head Life and Health Unit

Florida Insurance Commissioner Kevin McCarty said Thursday he has appointed Eric Lingswiler to become permanent director of Life and Health Product Review for the state Office of Insurance Regulation (OIR).Lingswiler has served as interim director of the unit since last Aug. 18. He joined the former Florida Department of Insurance as a life-and-health forms and rates analyst in 1995.In 2000, Lingswiler began oversight of viatical settlements and became bureau chief of property and casualty forms and rates in 2003.
