Senator Curtis Bramble's push to privatize Utah's Workers Compensation Fund (WCF) may be running out of steam.
Utah Lawmakers, who last week forced Governor Mike Leavitt to turn over documents he used to determine the risk of fully privatizing the State Fund, concluded that the Governor's decision to keep the fund under state control appears to be the best course for now.
Citing concerns over possible constituency backlash, Sen. Bill Hickman, R-St. George, says privatization offers no guarantees and may put Utah employers more at risk.
